Just my type

iPhone Typing TestTyping on the iPhone may not be as poor as we expected, but I think even the best iPhone typists among us will agree that it’s nowhere near as fast as typing on a full keyboard (I mean, ten fingers versus two thumbs? No contest!).

Still, whether you’re curious to see just how speedy you are when it comes to inputting text, check out the iPhone Typing Test. Just visit on the anatomy field and type something of any length. When you’re finished, hit the “Done” button on the keyboard, and the experiment will tell you how many words you typed, how expanded it took

you, and what your approximate word per minute score is. I managed a 41 wpm in both landscape and portrait (with one error both times), which is I believe slightly less than half what I can type on a real keyboard.

So, while I don’t think I’ll be working on my novel on the iPhone any instance soon (and, unless I want to write it on the web or in Notes, that’s not much of an option anyway), but for tapping out emails, 41wpm seems perfectly respectable. How about it folks, how did you do?
